The Fichtner Group
Global Expansion Reaches a New Record High
The Fichtner Group is on track to reach a new high again in 2024 with gross operating revenues of 355 million euros. This growth is particularly evident in the German domestic market and affects all business sectors directly involved in the energy transition. However, all of our overseas subsidiaries are also contributing to this development. This positive trend is expected to continue in the coming years.
A Summary of the Year 2024
The Fichtner Group performed well again in 2024, contrary to most macroeconomic and industry-related indices. All relevant key performance indicators show significant growth. In particular, order intake rose by 39.5%, while gross operating revenues increased by 5.5%. Earnings before taxes and headcount also increased. All international members of the Fichtner Group contributed positively to the company’s result and successfully continued on their growth trajectory. We now have 2,297 employees in various countries, who work hard every day in support of our clients’ many projects around the world.
Europe (including Germany) remains the region with the highest sales, accounting for 69% of gross operating revenues. When looking at gross operating revenues by field of activity, the Environment & Renewable Energies sector stands out with its disproportionately high growth of 44% compared to the previous year.

Reorganization in the Water Sector
To strengthen client interests in important overseas growth markets, particularly in the water sector, and to consolidate capacities even more effectively in the way we present ourselves to the outside world, the international business unit of Fichtner Water & Transportation GmbH was spun off to the German parent company Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG at the beginning of 2025. Doing so also reflects the notion of “ONE FICHTNER” in the way we present ourselves to the outside world.
A Look Ahead
The year 2025 will also have many unpredictable developments in store. The economic (low growth), political (such as the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East) and regulatory conditions continue to call for prudent action. Due to the positive and dynamic developments on the international energy markets, bolstered by a record-high order backlog, we see numerous opportunities both in the current and in the coming financial years. We are confident that we will continue on our growth trajectory and put our expertise to work in many projects together with our clients.
The expertise and exceptional team spirit of our employees worldwide are crucial to this. This makes us optimistic that we will achieve the goals we have set together again this year, make a productive contribution to the energy transition, and play an active role in solving numerous infrastructure challenges around the world.
June 2025
